WECH | Welcome to Maariyah

We are delighted to welcome new team member, Maariyah Imran, to our Women’s Enterprise and Community Hub.

Maariyah joins us as the Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator based in our Sparkbrook Hub where she is already busy recruiting and training volunteers to support the local community.

Here’s a little interview we would like to share so that you can get to know Maariyah a little better and get in touch about any of the projects she is working on.

Your role with us…

I will be coordinating the community volunteer programmes by recruiting and training local volunteers, I am also supporting with the local foodbank at the Women’s Enterprise Hub.

Why you joined our WECH team…

I joined the team as the organisation’s core values are very similar to mine, I am passionate about making a difference in the local community and empowering women. I want to use my skills and experience to improve the lives of others.

A little about yourself…

I have a BSc Honors in Sociology and I have worked as a Domestic Abuse support worker for the last two years.  I am passionate about supporting vulnerable women in society, to gain access to opportunities which will help to improve their lives and future.

What your passionate about and like to do out of work…

I am an adventure fanatic and I love spending time with family and friends.

We all want to wish Maariyah lots of luck in her new role with us!
