USE IT | Social Enterprise Challenge 2018
In 2017, iSE launched an exciting opportunity for Social Enterprise’s based in Ladywood, Handsworth and Smethwick to apply to The USE IT Social Enterprise Challenge.
An initiative offering a grant of up to £3000, made available through EU funding, to support and enable social enterprise to develop a new product or service to help diversify their income streams.
Complete Kidz CIC , one of the three successful applicants, has been awarded £1000 to be used to refurbish their facilities and make them more accessible to special needs children. This new equipment will enable them to access new contracts in Sandwell and provide better facilities for young disabled children.
Complete Kidz are a leading Community Interest Company, founded in 2011, providing a wide range of physical activity, sports coaching and educational services. They improve the health and well-being of children, young people, parents and families in the Sandwell and wider Black Country areas.
Their mission is to inspire and develop health and education through innovative and imaginative activities involving sport, music, drama and art. This is accomplished through engaging children and their parents and encouraging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. All the activities are provided in a safe environment, where participants enjoy themselves and achieve meaningful personal outcomes.
Jo Haydon (Chief Executive, Complete Kidz CIC – @CompleteKidzCIC) says:
‘Thank you for the funding through the USE IT! Programme, it will be greatly received and help us to develop our care suite. We tried a number of places for this funding, you have really helped us! ‘
