iSE | Spotlight on Social Enterprise

In this series, our digital apprentice Shian tells us more about the social enterprises that inspire them, starting with Empowering People in Change (EPIC) and Trade a Blade CIC…

First in the spotlight…

First in the spotlight…

EPIC is a social enterprise passionate about helping young people (aged 16-25) to be fearless about their futures through person-centred wrap around support to start and/or develop a business.

They exist to support young people in their growth as entrepreneurs who will contribute to a better, more inclusive society where individuals are valued, and communities grow and thrive cohesively.

They have a particular focus on empowering individuals from disadvantaged and marginalised communities – check out their work!

Next up…

Next up…Trade a Blade CIC is a knife amnesty service which houses an on-site Amnesty Bin for youth or adults to trade in their blade articles anonymously in return for a free recreational activity or skills session at sister company Primal Mastery.

From Axe throwing and archery to conflict resolution courses and basic carpentry classes, Primal Mastery is an anti-knife crime sports activity centre offering a variety of experiences and fun days out for all.

Trade a Blade CIC ultimately supports the transformation of better lifestyle choices for forthcoming generations, allowing them to redirect their purpose through classes that teach vital life changing skills to diffuse difficult and challenging situations and apply to future conflict matters.

We think both these social enterprises are doing some brilliant work that is truly inspiring – check them out!
