iSE | Social Enterprise Tourism with Warwick Business School
iSE welcomes global visitors through Warwick Business School invitation to host.
iSE recently played host to a group of global MBA students from FGV EBAPE, one of Brazil’s top business schools. The visit was part of a wider study tour organised by Warwick Business School, focussing on entrepreneurship and innovation in business.
The group spent a chilly afternoon visiting four diverse social enterprises in the Digbeth Social Enterprise Quarter, starting with Digbeth’s newest social enterprise Evolve, before moving on to Better Pathways, Changes UK and Health Exchange.
Students were given a valuable insight into the inner workings of social enterprise, in particular how they balance their commercial with social objectives, and how social value is embedded throughout the social enterprise business model, from employment to purchasing practices. The group were full of admiration for the social entrepreneurs and left Digbeth full of ideas to effect change in their own businesses.
