We’re delighted to introduce Cathy Brown, incoming CEO of iSE who is officially in post from today!
Cathy has had a busy few weeks getting to know the iSE team and having in-depth oversight of our many projects and programmes as well as the sector.
Cathy will be in touch with many of you soon (do reach out to say hello – firstname.lastname@example.org) but in the meantime, here’s an introductory video from Cathy and 3 things things to know about our new CEO, that you might yet not!
1. Cathy’s first job was as a Production Assistant on Birmingham’s BRMB Radio, working with the legendary Les Ross!
2. She was one of the Top 15 Influential Women in HR in 2019
3. If you follow her on Twitter (@cathyab) then be aware that she tweets about Morris dancing, cake and trains just as much as good work and the social economy.
Now here’s the serious stuff:
Cathy was formerly the Executive Director for Engage for Success (the UK’s movement for employee engagement) and the Operations Director for The Employee Ownership Association.
She has wide ranging experience across the public, private and third sectors in raising awareness and providing practical guidance to organisations looking to improve workplace experience and performance through many different business models.
Cathy engages and energises audiences around business change, leadership and the social economy. She passionately believes that helping people find a better way to work can make a big difference to people’s lives, their organisations and ultimately to the country.
Cathy says “the opportunity to join iSE, at such an important time for the city of Birmingham and its people, is one I am thrilled to be taking on.
There are challenges ahead, but some great opportunities too and I look forward to working with our West Midlands social entrepreneurs to strengthen the local social economy.”
Check out Cathy’s introduction video below. We hope you will join us all in welcoming Cathy to iSE and helping her to feel at home in her new role.
