Social Enterprise Drive is a festival showcasing business for good in Birmingham and beyond. Here’s how you can BUY social 6th-10th June and discover businesses working for people and planet.
Social enterprises are businesses that exist for more than profit. Rather than create wealth for shareholders, social enterprises use the profits they make to create social or environmental change, through reinvesting in communities, supporting charitable causes and directly through the services they provide.
We want Social Enterprise Drive to change the way business is done. It’s ambitious, but we think ALL businesses should be social.
Buying from a social enterprise and diversifying your supply chain is one way to be part of the change.
Here are four ways you can BUY SOCIAL and DISCOVER businesses for good near you:
1.Head to the atrium at Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull on Wednesday 8th June to discover all that is great in the social enterprise sector. If you’d like to showcase your social enterprise products, projects or services, there’s a few spaces left – click here to book your exhibition space
2. Pop-in to our Summer Social Fair at our Women’s Enterprise & Community Hub in Sparkbrook on the 8th of June 11am-2pm and celebrate the summer with delicious food, family crafts, stalls and wellbeing activities. Support women in business! No booking needed.
3. Check out The Pump’s Open House Lunch and enjoy a guided tour of their suite of Creative Spaces for young people including Makerspace and music studio. 4. Book your tickets and prepare for good vibes at our first ever social enterprise Wellness Fest at Soho House Museum, Handsworth. 5.Learn a new skill that give back with a social enterprise experience. Get your team or friends together to try axe throwing and archery with Trade a Blade CIC, a social enterprise diverting young people from crime.
6.Join our Graffi-TEA tour to discover Digbeth’s street art with High-Vis CIC, ending with a canalside ethical brew at the Minerva Apothecary Garden. Find out about Teas of Resistance, an inspirational project empowering women through growing.
