iSE | Capturing Social Enterprise Competition Shortlisting
This year, we kick-started City Drive 2020 with ‘Capturing Social Enterprise’ – a photography competition that will create an exhibition of social impact in a central Birmingham space.
Through this competition we aim to tackle one of the biggest challenges we face – the ‘general public’ not knowing what a social enterprise is. We therefore seek to promote social enterprise businesses, their social impact and the positive contribution they make to individuals and communities.
We are delighted to say we’ve had over 40 entries that are now being shortlisted ready for our Expo of Entries taking place in central Birmingham and within the Great Western Arcade.
Once again, City Drive is bringing much deserved attention to Birmingham as the largest UK Social Enterprise city outside of London. Unity Trust firmly recognises the important contribution these businesses make to the lives of individuals, in businesses and communities every day and are proud to be working alongside many of those attending the activity throughout the week.
Unity has always believed that banks have an important societal role and we’re proud to showcase the excellent and important work undertaken by these organisations in this unique way – celebrating their diversity, reach and impact across the city. UNITY TRUST BANK
Entries are now with the #CD2020 judging panel and we will be contacting everyone who entered in early March to invite them to the Awards evening and let them know if their entry has been shortlisted. Exciting!
Our thanks goes to Unity Trust Bank who have kindly sponsored the prizes for our category winners – 2 gorgeous overnight bags from luxury goods social enterprise Elvis & Kresse who recycle and re-purpose obsolete fire hoses.
The Capturing Social Enterprise Awards evening is taking place on Monday 30th March 2020, 6pm to 9pm at The Good Intent social enterprise pub in Great Western Arcade, Birmingham B2 5HU.
