iSE | Residential Leadership Programme for Trading Third Sector Organisations
Do you have emerging leaders in your organisation? This new course would be a great opportunity to enable them to access important leadership skills.
We are delighted to announce that ISE are running an Adaptive Leadership Programme for anybody working to bring about social change. We are looking to recruit up to 12 social enterprise leaders or emerging leaders* to spend 4 days learning and practising key leadership skills. If any of the following questions apply to you – then this course could be just what you need.
About the Course
- Does your work involve trying to influence others – including people you have no direct authority over?
- Do you wonder why colleagues are reluctant to talk about ‘the elephant in the room’ – and instead focus on other issues that can be a distraction from what is really needed?
- Are you interested in work that delivers impact and creates opportunities for others – even if this can mean figuring things out as you go?
- Do you wonder why the project ideas that should be easy to implement sometimes seem to run into difficulties again and again?
- Do you want to be more effective in achieving results – but recognise that you can’t do everything yourself?
(* we believe that leaders can come from anywhere within an organisation – leadership is about behaviour not the role or position you occupy)
This programme will provide a framework for you to learn and apply leadership skills in a practical way. The course will be delivered over 4 days in Birmingham, with participants working together to develop opportunities for social enterprise around a major international event. Following completion of the programme all participants will also be supported with professional coaching to strengthen learning and development.
For individuals, the programme will provide tools and insights that improve effectiveness and collaboration, increase influencing capacity and strengthen their personal resilience while working to deliver change. Organisations will benefit from improved strategic planning and delivery skills as well as being involved in the identification of exciting opportunities as part of a core group of social enterprises in Birmingham.
Who should apply? If you answered ‘yes’ to one or more of the questions above – and you work as part of a social enterprise in West Birmingham, you should think seriously about applying for this opportunity. As part of your application you will need to identify a key challenge that is the focus of your work – as this will enable you to apply the training directly to your day-to-day experience.
The course starts at 9.30 am Monday 10th June 2019 and completes at 2.00pm on Friday 14th June 2019
All participants need to be available for the full week in order to benefit fully from the programme. Business coaching prior to and following the course.
The programme is fully funded for those located in West Birmingham and Smethwick, for those in other parts of the city the cost will be £400 per person. This programme is usually delivered to future leaders from corporates and it has a value of in excess of £5000 per person.
Applications are through letter of application and individual interviews. Please can you describe in your letter why you and your organisation would benefit from having a place on this programme.
