Commissioners often expect a high degree of awareness from applicants about the potential risks that might affect commissioned work, they also have a legal duty to ensure that they invest public money safely. This workshop will support you to develop a better ‘radar’ to identify risks and create effective responses to managing that risk, as well as how to qualify as 'low risk' in the eyes' of commissioners.
The workshop will cover:
· A background to impact assessment - where it comes from and why we do it.
· Different approaches to impact assessment - exploring both positive and negative models.
· The legislation - whose duty is it to impact assess.
· How to do it - key principles and techniques to get you started.
